Coral and Apple Green

I just love spring and this year colors of all kinds are my favorites.

I found little cuties in my garden.

I planted more veggies in my garden..

I have enjoyed Spring Break!

I made two new items for my shop.

Things are happening and I don't have control over most of them.
Today, I am good.

He is now 27 weeks
How has your week been to you and have you found any treasures that has been hiding around you?

Spring Colors for April

I was recently invited to be a part of a Block of the Month Mystery quilt by my lovely friend, Angie.
I jumped at the chance and am realizing I really miss the piecing of quilts.
I have been sewing wallets and apron and little bags for some time now. I miss quilting.
Now, I am part of the BOM and wanted to show you what I have so far.
If you want to see the other blocks just go here.
I will share more as the time goes on.
My ten year old grand daughter helped decide what fabrics to use and well, I am going with it.
We will see in the end how beautiful it is.

New Design

I was asked if I could put the zippered coin pocket on the outside of the original  Fletcher Ross Design's Quilter's Wallet.
I did some tweaking and came up with this.
What design are you tweaking to create your own pattern of creativity?

Little Gifts for My Friends

Good evening Bloggers,
I have been trying to get here for a week or more and this evening I have a few moments to share with you.
I have been sharing with you how I have been selling wallets on ETSY  and last week or two, I was crazily busy.

But in the meantime I attend a weekly women's bile study. We have been studying about the redeeming Savior, Jesus Christ. He has given so much for all to receive eternal salvation.  The giving He has done is nothing I can come even remotely come close to, but, I want to be a giver.

So a few weeks ago I told you I was making something for each member of my little group. I have finally completed the task and this is what I have come up with.

I had asked the group leader to find out what the ladies favorite colors are.
They do not know who has asked this question. They only know it is not the leader.
After two weeks the colors trickled in and now they will get a gift in their favorite color.
This has helped me in many ways.
1, To be able to give and not receive.
2, To serve with out expectations.
3, To understand the differences in people, and their desires.
AND….
4,  What are peoples choice in colors, so I can make those in my shop. :)
I had not thought of that until I was more than half way through the project, but I think it is a very good lesson.
I am not quite sure how to offer these little treasure gifts in my shop . I may offer as a what color choice for a price, or just make them for a price , or groups of how many, etc. Do you have any ideas?
Can you give me some of your thought? A little bit of input could go a long way.
Thank you for visiting again as always, until next time, happy bloggin'.

Outside the Box

I have had many times , the challenge of stepping outside the box, but haven't gone far.
This last week, I have been taken outside, because someone  wanted something special.
That something was three custom wallets made to order from their stash.
I could not even fathom the idea. So outside, I was blinded.
I created just what the customer wanted and to my surprise, and delight, I like them.
Modren Meadows
Amy and Denim
Os So Amy Butler
They will be received with great joy, and Love.
How are you when you are taken outside your box, and how do you handle the end result?

Looking at it Another Way

lettuce variety
The weather out side has been beautiful this week. I just wish I had the time to go play in it. I have wanted to get out to my vegetable garden for weeks now. I have my lettuce bed growing wonderfully, but I need to get the other things  in the ground for them to grow. Don't you agree. haha.
But with all this, I have been non stop answering questions for my etsy shop.
ways to share stash
I am amazed at the traffic, but the questions, have stunned me. Like really? I really wish you could hear me saying this, cause I am not complaining, really. :)
I have had questions about what I charge. Did you not see the price next to the item?
Would I be willing to send a free sample to someone, so they can post it to their blog for people to see,? Can I send picture of the fabrics I have for choices to choose from? Uh, Sure do you have all day, I don't.
what # do you like

If you want to share my items, copy and paste a photo with the web site. Look at the prices on the item page. What colors and themes do you desire, then we can narrow down the search of fabric choices.
No, I am not amazed at the questions being asked. I am glad I am not asking them and have had the opportunity to see the real world in its reality. (?) Really.
Is it Pink?
It is Cute!
And available on etsy
This is one that got me. The item is sold as pink. Take a good look at it. Is it Salmon/ Red, /PINK? I still cannot say for sure.
But the out come is not bad, just not what the customer really wanted.  So, back to the drawing board and wait for the right item to arrive, again.
At this point, I am happy to say, business has picked up and I am working at making people happy. Glad I can be of service, as well as an instructor.
Now off to go build another gift item for my bible study group. I am making gifts for all the gals as a end of the season surprise. I will come back later and show you what I gave them. Until next time, have a great adventure and thank you for stopping by for a quick visit.

What kind of stunning questions have you been asked this week?
Judith

Thank you for your comments, they mean a lot to me.  :)

Days Like This, My Mama Said

Remember when we heard that sayin' There will be days like this, my mama said"?
Last week was full of them. And today is another one. Oh my goodness. I know that spring is around the corner and days are warming up. Birds are twitter-patted and the pooches are wanting to sun bathe. My mind is wanting to hibernate and my soul wants to sing and sleep all at the same time. It is crazy. And I can not explain any of to my heart. It just doesn't get any of it. So I guess I really don't either.
I hope I am not alone in any of these issues, and if I am, I must be really special. lol

Trying to get things together for the tax man, teach school, baby sit, work, and sew wallets for my shop, is all just about over the edge. Not to mention, I still have to fix dinner and sleep. Okay enough.
Thanks for letting me vent.

What do you think of my new Etsy items.
Do they holler Spring Fling for the young thing?

What colors would you like to see in my shop?

And how does your day seem to be going?

Hope you are well, and thank you for visiting, I needed a break.

I am just in awe of how many blogs I visited in the last few weeks and I could not get to them all. I wanted to but time got away from me. I was blessed with 42 more  unique people to follow my blog. THANK YOU ALL.
I didn't know so many people doing so many different thing, are blogging about them.
I have met so many people around the world as so many have said in the grow your blog write ups. I had no idea. I wish I could have met more and I think I will go back and visit them again at my leisure.
But for the time being, I will just announce the winner.

As for the winner, which may seem random to some but not to me, I now have 54 follower and using the random.org  the # was 54. lol

Jayne from Jaynes stitching tales is the winner, who wrote...

You are a very talented lady thank-you for dropping by my blog I have joined yours.

I will wait to hear from you Jayne, and go from there, since this is my first time with a give away.

This Week in February

If you are here for the Grow Your Blog,  go here.

The weather out side is very cool and moist this week. But I am Thankful we are not in freezing temperatures. That is why we here deal with the warm summer days. Cold to the bone for me, is a killer.
But this week we have busy with little ones and business.
My grandson is bringing in more teeth and going thru all the struggles that come with them. Runny nose, slight fever, and not sleeping well. Someone told me about these wonderful Amber beads for just this thing. I found a site, http://www.amberartisans.com/,and purchased them. And I found that they are also helpful for many other aliments that we older folks tend to deal with. So I got a couple of them all at the same time and saved money on shipping. Yeah! I really believe they have helped me this winter and we see instant results with the wee one.

I was able to get my first Etsy custom order in and out this week. I am still waiting on items for another order to be completed.
And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, we will be on to the next season of the year. St. Patrick's Day. GREEN. I love green. Living Loving Harmony.

Well, I need to go teach some language arts to my prize student.

Hope to hear you have had a great week.

What was your week like, and what are you doing today?

Get In Touch

If you are here for the Grow Your Blog,  go here.

I can not believe how this week has just spun by. So many of you have stopped by to just say "Hi". How great that is. I am so happy that the party has gone so well. I need more hours in my week to get to all of them. But I am sure I would still need more time. Surely other things would crowd in and around the clock to just get a little of my attention.
I have been in touch with so many people this week my head in still in a whirl wind spin. I am amazed. But hey, the clock still is ticking and we still have time to get in touch with so many more.
Mean while I have been handling the home front, with a thread and a hum in my soul.
Last weekend we had the Local Quilt show in Ontario -Road to California. I was planning on taking my grand-daughter, but well she ended up staying home with her mommy and little brother. That gave me all the time in the day, and I took it.
When I arrived I ran into a friend I had not seen in about four years. It was great, we toured the whole show together, then went our separate ways again. I saw some real beautiful show pieces. Traditional quilts really I guess are my favorite. There is talent in all art , but the traditional quilts take me back to when they were done by templates and newspaper, and hand. Okay, hand is to much for me, I can't hold a needle for ten minutes, but I wish I could.
I found some fun pieces of fabric to make some beautiful items for my shop. I even picked up a different material. I can't wait to see if I can work with it. If so, I will show you when I get it done. Or heck I may have to ask you your opinion, when the time comes, I will try to get in touch with you.
And today I was able to alter one of my items when some one got in touch with me. It was the first time I took apart a wallet and added more credit card slots. I am glad when I can make someone HAPPY to where they are singing.
Hope you are having a wonderful day and glad you stopped by for a visit. Do come again.

GROW YOUR BLOG

Hi Bloggers.
I just want to say 'Thank you' for taking the time to come in and sit awhile to read my blog.
My name is Judith and I am a sewing quilter. I totally enjoy sewing, and I started out making clothes and then went into quilts. My fingers get itchy for pins and fabric. The hum of the machine makes my heart sing.
I am a self taught quilter and whatever else I do. Garden, blog, cook, and even do some home canning.
I am a grandmother of five, one girl, four boys. The oldest is ten, and the youngest is sixteen weeks.
I homeschool my grand daughter who is the oldest. We are into the fourth year of playing school.
I hope to get to know more of you as this year continues and I remember to keep the fire going under this pan. I have a lot of pans on the stove all the time, and some times I forget which one has fire under it.
I began blogging a couple of years ago, because a  friend gave me the idea, as well as my sister. So much to share with others when others have the time to sit awhile.
I am glad to be a part of this Grow Your Blog event.
I  started an Etsy shop so I can help at home and sew at the same time. If you want to see what is there click on the link, or on the button on the side.
I hope to share with you what makes my heart sing, which is what I create when I get to SEW.
Again THANK YOU for taking the time to stop and read thru my blog.
To further thank you I’m giving away a coin purse made by me from a fabric I have on hand.  This giveaway is open to anyone. In order to win, leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite fabric is (floral, geometric, solid, novelty, etc (please be sure you are not a no-reply on Blogger).  For a second chance to win, you can become a follower and leave a comment telling me you have done so. Winner will be chosen on February 15th.  Good Luck!
the oldest to the youngest~~~ joy!

Winter in SoCal With Chocolate and Carmel

Okay, today in SoCal it is about 74* outside, but in my house is 67*. Go figure. Plaster walls stay cool longer and takes awhile to warm up. But outside is wonderful. I used to call it mailman weather. lol That can say where I used to be.
But today I am sewing up a storm. No wind today, just calm mellow breezes blowin' thru the window panes.
I have been working at getting all the ins and outs of my newest adventure, ETSY.
It is a lot of work. Well for me it is. Between homeschooling and babysitting and working and.....well you get the picture. A woman's work is never done. I just keep adding pans on the fire.
So with this new adventure, I found a way to show more of what I am doing. More to be learned I am sure, a little at a time.
Today I found I can share my blog in my shop about page, yay!.So I am sharing what is new there.
This is what I added today.

I envision Chocolate and Carmel goodies.
See more in the shop by clicking on the ESTY link off to the side. Share with your friends and family and follow me and like my facebook page Everestranchcreations
I can use all the help I can get.
Thank you reading my blog and take care. Visit again and see what else is new.
