Raining In SoCal

Hello Bloggers,
It is really raining here in SoCal. It Is a really treat and very much needed.
As always, life here this week has been busy and all I have done is teach, babysit and sew a few wallets, but today with the help of the weather I had a small break.
With the weather and reading history , it has a way of curing insomnia.
Angie's beautiful work of art, that I lOVE.

Also, today there is an anniversary to be had. Angie over at http://quiltingreadersgarden.blogspot.com/ is celebrating her fifth year in blog land, You Go Angie. And she is having a give away. Check it out, and let her know I sent you, lol.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your weather. It could change at any moment here, or maybe in the next ten minutes. :)

Days Like This, My Mama Said

Remember when we heard that sayin' There will be days like this, my mama said"?
Last week was full of them. And today is another one. Oh my goodness. I know that spring is around the corner and days are warming up. Birds are twitter-patted and the pooches are wanting to sun bathe. My mind is wanting to hibernate and my soul wants to sing and sleep all at the same time. It is crazy. And I can not explain any of to my heart. It just doesn't get any of it. So I guess I really don't either.
I hope I am not alone in any of these issues, and if I am, I must be really special. lol

Trying to get things together for the tax man, teach school, baby sit, work, and sew wallets for my shop, is all just about over the edge. Not to mention, I still have to fix dinner and sleep. Okay enough.
Thanks for letting me vent.

What do you think of my new Etsy items.
Do they holler Spring Fling for the young thing?

What colors would you like to see in my shop?

And how does your day seem to be going?

Hope you are well, and thank you for visiting, I needed a break.

Grew My Blog

I am just in awe of how many blogs I visited in the last few weeks and I could not get to them all. I wanted to but time got away from me. I was blessed with 42 more  unique people to follow my blog. THANK YOU ALL.
I didn't know so many people doing so many different thing, are blogging about them.
I have met so many people around the world as so many have said in the grow your blog write ups. I had no idea. I wish I could have met more and I think I will go back and visit them again at my leisure.
But for the time being, I will just announce the winner.

As for the winner, which may seem random to some but not to me, I now have 54 follower and using the random.org  the # was 54. lol

Jayne from Jaynes stitching tales is the winner, who wrote...

You are a very talented lady thank-you for dropping by my blog I have joined yours.

I will wait to hear from you Jayne, and go from there, since this is my first time with a give away.

Again Thank you all for popping in for a few and taking the time to introduce yourselves. It is my pleasure to meet you all. Enjoy the rest of the week end.

This Week in February

If you are here for the Grow Your Blog,  go here.

The weather out side is very cool and moist this week. But I am Thankful we are not in freezing temperatures. That is why we here deal with the warm summer days. Cold to the bone for me, is a killer.
But this week we have busy with little ones and business.
My grandson is bringing in more teeth and going thru all the struggles that come with them. Runny nose, slight fever, and not sleeping well. Someone told me about these wonderful Amber beads for just this thing. I found a site, http://www.amberartisans.com/,and purchased them. And I found that they are also helpful for many other aliments that we older folks tend to deal with. So I got a couple of them all at the same time and saved money on shipping. Yeah! I really believe they have helped me this winter and we see instant results with the wee one.

I was able to get my first Etsy custom order in and out this week. I am still waiting on items for another order to be completed.
And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, we will be on to the next season of the year. St. Patrick's Day. GREEN. I love green. Living Loving Harmony.

Well, I need to go teach some language arts to my prize student.

Hope to hear you have had a great week.

What was your week like, and what are you doing today?

Get In Touch

If you are here for the Grow Your Blog,  go here.

I can not believe how this week has just spun by. So many of you have stopped by to just say "Hi". How great that is. I am so happy that the party has gone so well. I need more hours in my week to get to all of them. But I am sure I would still need more time. Surely other things would crowd in and around the clock to just get a little of my attention.
I have been in touch with so many people this week my head in still in a whirl wind spin. I am amazed. But hey, the clock still is ticking and we still have time to get in touch with so many more.
Mean while I have been handling the home front, with a thread and a hum in my soul.
Last weekend we had the Local Quilt show in Ontario -Road to California. I was planning on taking my grand-daughter, but well she ended up staying home with her mommy and little brother. That gave me all the time in the day, and I took it.
When I arrived I ran into a friend I had not seen in about four years. It was great, we toured the whole show together, then went our separate ways again. I saw some real beautiful show pieces. Traditional quilts really I guess are my favorite. There is talent in all art , but the traditional quilts take me back to when they were done by templates and newspaper, and hand. Okay, hand is to much for me, I can't hold a needle for ten minutes, but I wish I could.
I found some fun pieces of fabric to make some beautiful items for my shop. I even picked up a different material. I can't wait to see if I can work with it. If so, I will show you when I get it done. Or heck I may have to ask you your opinion, when the time comes, I will try to get in touch with you.
And today I was able to alter one of my items when some one got in touch with me. It was the first time I took apart a wallet and added more credit card slots. I am glad when I can make someone HAPPY to where they are singing.
Hope you are having a wonderful day and glad you stopped by for a visit. Do come again.

GROW YOUR BLOG

Hi Bloggers.
I just want to say 'Thank you' for taking the time to come in and sit awhile to read my blog.
My name is Judith and I am a sewing quilter. I totally enjoy sewing, and I started out making clothes and then went into quilts. My fingers get itchy for pins and fabric. The hum of the machine makes my heart sing.
I am a self taught quilter and whatever else I do. Garden, blog, cook, and even do some home canning.
I am a grandmother of five, one girl, four boys. The oldest is ten, and the youngest is sixteen weeks.
I homeschool my grand daughter who is the oldest. We are into the fourth year of playing school.
I hope to get to know more of you as this year continues and I remember to keep the fire going under this pan. I have a lot of pans on the stove all the time, and some times I forget which one has fire under it.
I began blogging a couple of years ago, because a  friend gave me the idea, as well as my sister. So much to share with others when others have the time to sit awhile.
I am glad to be a part of this Grow Your Blog event.
I  started an Etsy shop so I can help at home and sew at the same time. If you want to see what is there click on the link, or on the button on the side.
I hope to share with you what makes my heart sing, which is what I create when I get to SEW.
Again THANK YOU for taking the time to stop and read thru my blog.
To further thank you I’m giving away a coin purse made by me from a fabric I have on hand.  This giveaway is open to anyone. In order to win, leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite fabric is (floral, geometric, solid, novelty, etc (please be sure you are not a no-reply on Blogger).  For a second chance to win, you can become a follower and leave a comment telling me you have done so. Winner will be chosen on February 15th.  Good Luck!
the oldest to the youngest~~~ joy!

Winter in SoCal With Chocolate and Carmel

Okay, today in SoCal it is about 74* outside, but in my house is 67*. Go figure. Plaster walls stay cool longer and takes awhile to warm up. But outside is wonderful. I used to call it mailman weather. lol That can say where I used to be.
But today I am sewing up a storm. No wind today, just calm mellow breezes blowin' thru the window panes.
I have been working at getting all the ins and outs of my newest adventure, ETSY.
It is a lot of work. Well for me it is. Between homeschooling and babysitting and working and.....well you get the picture. A woman's work is never done. I just keep adding pans on the fire.
So with this new adventure, I found a way to show more of what I am doing. More to be learned I am sure, a little at a time.
Today I found I can share my blog in my shop about page, yay!.So I am sharing what is new there.
This is what I added today.

I envision Chocolate and Carmel goodies.
See more in the shop by clicking on the ESTY link off to the side. Share with your friends and family and follow me and like my facebook page Everestranchcreations
I can use all the help I can get.
Thank you reading my blog and take care. Visit again and see what else is new.

Not a Fan of Football

Okay, so I am not a fan of football, due to a date so many years ago, I can not remember. But the game events, I do. Not so good ending to a great game.
Well so with that said, I just listen to the people talk about the GAME.
And on that note, I made 49er wallet's and a coin purse.
Then I needed something pretty again to make and so I did. What do you think?
Women's Checkbook Wallet
It has black on black batik for the lining. The body is corduroy with gold gilding in the design. The pockets are made from Thimbleberries fabric. So what do you think? Do you like it?
Coin Purse
I wish it wasn't so far back on the pages of etsy(66). ugh
Just wanted to keep you updated on the progress at my shop.
Thank you for stopping by. Please visit my shop if you want to see more items or views of these.

Another Time Another Year

As we all know, the year must come to an end an another will be issued in. It is that time.
I have not been quilting so much as I have be playing, catch up. But I have been sewing and that is good. I can't say I have used up my stash as Angie over at A Quilting Reader's Garden has. Nor have I been able quilt up as many as others have this year. But I am sewing.
I started an etsy shop and so at least I can sew on little things and then share them with others.
I am still homeschooling my grand daughter so that is where most of my time is spent. Also, with the new grand babies that entered my world this last year. I have been busy. I was able to make a couple of small quilts that i think I posted, but may not have.
Time just keeps ticking away and there are times when I can't remember what today is.
Like today when I woke up and had to ask myself, what is today and who is coming. "No one", was the reply. I had the day off. So I cleaned a little bit and then hit the sewing room. I was able to finish another wallet for my shop, with hopes that someone will like it as much as I do.
I must keep this short so as not to really bore you so I will end it with this.
HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR and keep on stitching in your quilting play house.

November Half Done

Hello Bloggers,
I cannot believe that this month is already half over. It seems like it was just the beginning of the new school year and yet that was over two months ago.
With the time scooting by so quickly, I am not sure I am ready for the holidays.
My daughters anniversary is 10 days away, for their second year of being no longer newly weds. And little Caleb is already six weeks old.
Sweetie boy, will be "1" in less than a month, and he is now walking. We do laps around the kitchen/ living-room.

So, while I work with all the little ones, I also try to keep my sanity making little quick projects.
I posted a few more items for my etsy shop.

I sold a couple as well. Some friends came in to town last week and just had to have a couple of the wallets.
Well need to get going, as to brainstorm more ideas for color schemes.
Thank you for stopping and visiting, and check out the shop on your way around the web, by clicking on the link on the right.

News from Everest Ranch

Hi there, For those who haven't been here before, Thank you for stopping by, and for those who have in the past, Thank you for coming back.
I have been busy with many different things.
I have been trying to get somethings going for better therapy  and some payoffs.
I still home school and now baby-sit my new grand-son who is almost walking on his own.
But I started my own Etsy shop. I was making the items for my daughter's etsy shop. Things just got hectic. And well now she is about to have her first baby and I Need to do this for myself.
So I opened it about a week ago now and hope to have good results with it. I made all of Hope-n-Motions wallets. Also many of the aprons and bags. I guess I did a lot.
So with a little bit of time on my very busy plate, I now have a shop to run and keep stocked.
If you want to get a special handmade-one of a kind item, quilter's wallet, or other item that will be coming soon. Then stop by my shop and see what is available.

Remembering My Friend- Carol

I just want to say that as we live our lives for today, that time flies past us.
One of my very dear friends went home to be with the Lord before this last Christmas and it took all of who love her for a spin.
This past weekend she was laid to rest at sea. She will be remembered by all who knew her, because she left an impression on all who met her.
She was one who would give you all she could, but if she needed something she didn't always demand it.
She was so funny at times, as she grumbled about what she truly believed in.
She wasn't happy about where this country was going and wasn't afraid to let you know about it. She believed in the Savior and was sure to tell you about Him if you would listen, but wouldn't push Him on you.
She had more sewing machines than anyone I knew. Yet only began to sew about six maybe seven years ago.
She loved her dogs and cats and yes even her chickens. She also loved horses, but she loved flamingo's most, and PINK.
She was an avid reader and there was a list of books and authors she just had to read. She loved to share her books as well.
When ever she found something new, that excited her, she shared it with anyone and everyone who would give her the time, or not. She loved to share.
I am so pleased to know that she has been laid to rest where she wanted to go, but knowing that she is in heaven and I will one day see her again, makes me the happiest.
I will miss her until we meet again.

Real Reason

I found this and had to share;

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" (John 3:16-17).

With the busyness of the holiday rush and the constant bombardment of commercialism at this time of the year, it becomes easy to lose focus on what is truly important. Put things in proper perspective with this lighthearted look at the real reason for the season.

Why Jesus Is Better Than Santa Claus - Author Unknown

    • Santa lives at the North Pole, but Jesus is everywhere.
    • Santa rides in a sleigh, but Jesus rides on the wind and walks on the water.
    • Santa comes once a year, but Jesus is an ever present help.
    • Santa fills your stockings with goodies, but Jesus supplies all your needs.
    • Santa comes down your chimney uninvited, but Jesus stands at your door and knocks.
    • You have to wait in line to see Santa, but Jesus is as close as the mention of His name.
    • Santa lets you sit on his lap, but Jesus lets you rest in His arms.
    • Santa doesn't know your name, but Jesus knew our name before we did.
    • Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly, but Jesus has a heart full of love.
    • All Santa can offer is "HO HO HO," but Jesus offers health, help, and hope.
    • Santa says, "You better not cry," but Jesus says, "Cast all your cares on me."
    • Santa's little helpers make toys, but Jesus makes new life and mends wounded hearts.
    • Santa may make you chuckle, but Jesus gives you joy that is your strength.
    • While Santa puts gifts under your tree, Jesus became our gift and died on a tree.
You can come up with some of your own truths and add if you would like.
Have A Blessed and Merry Christmas, 2012

It's About Time

Hi Everyone, Wow I can't believe how much time goes by,
I have been so caught in the daily doings of my life that I don't get to come by much anymore.
I want to try to get back more often though. Just to catch you up a bit, We are having a new arrival this month. In fact it could be any day now. My daughter is about to let go of my fourth grandchild. And she is so ready.
I have been making blankets and cootie covers and sister gifts and bibs, and, and and......I am tired.
I am still homeschooling my Punkin and we are learning so much. This year is going pretty smooth so far, with mom covering every once in awhile.
I am still making wallets that we are selling on our etsy shop
http://www.etsy.com/shop/HopeNMotion?ref=
and I have been training my new baby who is so lovable and growing.

Well I just wanted to stop by with a quick update and hope I can again sooner than later with more. Thanks for stopping by, and happy blogging,

Judith

Things that have been Happening -7/4/2012

Some things that have been happening since my last post....
Lets see where to start and it won't be in chronological  order by any means cause to much has happened.
So, the new garden is in and growing beautifully, Thank the Lord.
We have finished another year in our home school adventure. Amazing that we are both still breathing, and wanting to give it another try for another year. I do say that with some hesitation, but have purchased new curriculum for the coming year.
We had to say go bye to a real love in our family. Tasha was 13 1/2 years old. She went deaf last summer and she was slowing down to the point where she didn't want to get up due to pain in her joints. She was sick but the quality of life was gone and summer was her hardest time since she was so full of thick hair. We didn't want her to suffer the last days of her life so we laid her to rest in March.
In April we brought home a new family member and she is a real treat as well as beautiful.
She is going to be a real asset to this ranch.
She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback. And OH MY GOODNESS, I love her.
I have been working on the same quilt since early January and am having a real struggle keeping it going.
I have gone back to work on Saturdays just to add more to the daily things to have to do, but I Thank God for that too. It has helped in these times of struggle with the cost of Everything continuing to go up.
I did get to go to Quilt in a Day in May.
I purchased enough fabric to build a quilt to cover a king sized bed and more. I just need to get busy with doing it though.
Like I told Angie over at A Quilting Reader's Garden, I keep having to do things like can tomatoes.
I have been learning a lot more about nutrition these last few months and I would like to fire my doctor.
But that is not up for discussion.
I have been making wallets to sell on HopeNMotion on Etsy lately. Another blessing.
So with all that said on this Cool July 4th, 2012, I guess that is all for now.

Zucchini needs something done with it, more bread maybe.
